Can hot food vendors and food trucks participate in the market?
Hot food vendors and food trucks are welcome. These vendors must comply with Dubois County Health Department by having a licensed kitchen if you live in Dubois County, a temporary food permit if you do not, or be otherwise exempt. They also need to practice good food safety, have hand washing available, and proper disposal of waste products. Finally, food trucks will need to check Jasper ordinances for any permit requirements.
We only have space for two food trucks at a time. It is important you communicate with us when you plan to participate; otherwise, you may arrive without a spot to park. Portable generators must be quiet.
Hot food vendors and food truck operators are not bound by the same restrictions as home-based vendors, homestead vendors, and small farm operators. As retail establishments, customers are not expecting that a food truck operator grows their own produce.
Both hot food vendors and food trucks must be locally owned and operated and not part of a franchise.
This rule would exclude McDonalds, Parlour Donuts, and Chic-fil-a because they are franchises. It would also exclude Starbucks because, while not a chain, it is not locally owned.
